History

Lake Hills Church began with a meeting of fifteen people in the Austin living room of founding Pastor Mac Richard and his wife Julie in 1997. After initially holding services at Forest Trail and Valley View Elementary schools, Lake Hills Church moved into the Westlake High School Fine Arts Facility in September 1999 and met there through the beginning of 2005.

In January of 2005, we began meeting on our 40.5-acre campus on Bee Cave Road.

Since its inception, the church has been about creativity and finding ways to express biblical truth in fresh and captivating ways. Mac’s teaching is focused on the unchanging truth of scripture, but is presented in a style that captivates, educates, and challenges all at once. The music that accompanies our worship represents the very best of Austin, the Live Music Capital of the World. Video, personal stories, drama, and short films are just some of the tools that we use to communicate the Gospel in a clear, engaging manner week in and week out.
