Parent-Child Dedication
Parent Child Dedication is not the salvation of the child, but a public expression of the fact that he or she belongs to God. This “setting apart” is an act by the parents, a prayerful declaration of their stewardship over God’s child. As the parent, you are declaring that you will do your best to raise your child in a godly home and we as a church are pledging to support and pray for you and your family.
Luke 2:22 - - When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 - - These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
What ages?
Children from birth – 4 years old may participate in dedication with their parents. Starting at age 5, we believe children can begin making a personal decision to follow Jesus which would result in baptism. We hope you allow Lake Hills Church the honor of being a part of the dedication of your child to the Lord.
